About the Author
Roger Evernden has been an Enterprise Architect since 1984, specializing in the highly practical use of EA to manage organizational transformation. He acts as consultant, advisor, mentor and coach on enterprise architecture initiatives, leads training workshops, and writes regularly about strategy and architecture. Roger provides an innovative combination of training and tools to help architects and their team throughout an EA program and at all capability levels. His hands-on training workshops provide a thorough grounding of all the key techniques, with practical examples, exercises and demonstrations. As architect of the Information FrameWork (IFW), Roger pioneered many contemporary techniques, including the use of industry reference models, business capability analysis, and component-based building blocks. His work has been the basis for more than 400 business and IT architecture initiatives worldwide. He has written articles appearing in major publications and books, including the seminal article on Information FrameWork published in IBM's Systems Journal. He is also author of "101 Lessons From Enterprise Architecture".

This book did't resonate well with me. First of ...

This book did't resonate well with me. First of all, I wouldn't really call it a book on "Enterprise architecture".
The first edition (this is second) was published with the title "Information First - Integrating Knowledge and Information Architecture for Business Advantage".
To me, instead of being an enterprise architecture book, I would call it an "Information-Management-book-turned-into-an-enterprise-architecture-book". And not successfully so.
For instance, in the introduction, they list three themes: 1) "Information is still an important part ..." 2) "...it still feels that there is too much emphasis on technology, and not enough of information and enterprise architecture" 3) "Our main theme is therefore about how we can switch that focus from technology to information through enterprise architecture".
So from their perspective, it's all about Information. Nowhere have I seen this information-biased take on enterprise archicture. To me, this book is an outlier.
