If you look up the cultures of all the first century churches, not all of them requiring women to cover their heads.
There were a number that didn't, yet Paul said that all the Churches kept this custom.

Not a Beginners Book

I am over 60 years old and for 5 years have been trying to learn Spanish. I live in a Spanish community. This was one of two books I purchased in my efforts to learn the new language. Young minds accept information they are given; older minds try to make it fit with what they already know. It wasn't until someone gave me a primary school work book that I began to absorb the new language. The teaching format of this book is excellent and will help someone who has already studied Spanish. I've owned this book for over 4 years and hope to work my way into it over the next year or two.

But after watching his parents' relationship disintegrate, Mano guards his heart and keeps it strictly sexual.

Determined to become self-sufficient, Mano returns to college while still working full-time. When he meets the man of his dreams, he’s too scared and unsure of himself to pursue him. For years he went out of his way to avoid getting close to a man, so now when he wants to, he doesn’t know how. With the encouragement of Jake and others, Mano searches for the courage to go after what he’s always really wanted.

Really Nice Sweet Enjoyable Story

This is a very nice, sweet book.

It is not a standard romance. Mano meets and falls in love with someone towards the end of the book (it ends well).

Otherwise, the book is exactly as described, Mano's story from when he moves to Hawaii and covers the next 4 years of his life, including the people he meets, a bit of the sex he has, and the friendships he develops. There is a focus on building a chosen family as opposed to the one he was born with.

Michael Murphy is very much a tale teller, and follows his own rules versus the norms of novel writing. So his books are quite a bit different from a normal romance novel.

But this is a really nice, sweet, enjoyable story with lovely characters. I really enjoyed Mano's story and would love to read more books with these characters. Also, this is the best book cover ever. (I don't usually care or notice book covers). I don't really understand why this book has received so little attention. It was really good.
